About Me
Edvin Hadžic had little choice but to become a musician. Born in 1980 to a musical family in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, by the age of 13 he had already started experimenting with his father's Fender Jazz bass. A few years later he joined his first band, the solidly pop-oriented No Name, which made its first studio recording (Neman Snage) in 1998. The strong influence of 1970s funk can be heard in the recordings he made as a teenager, No Name's second recording Poljubac do neba, Occulto's Super je, and most strikingly on Slobodan, an album by Elvir Bandic – Banda.Developing an interest in jazz, he decided to move to Graz in Austria, where he spent three years studying, playing and recording with numerous jazz, blues and funk musicians. It was in Graz that he started playing the double bass as his second instrument. On his return to Bosnia he moved to the capital, Sarajevo, where he continued to play and record with such names as Nermin Puškar, Enver Lugavic Kice, Damir Imamovic Trio and Amira Medunjanin. He currently lives in Sarajevo, where he works as a studio and session musician.
