About Me

Bebop59 was formed By Joe Robassa in August 2007 during that time some changes here and there, some great little gigs along the way..so far the journey has been great...performed at various places such as: The Wattle Festival 2008 (Hurstbridge) at Henry Hursts The Diamond Town Fair 2008 AD Ryans (D/Creek) The Leinster Arms Hotel Evelyn County Estate Sandown Park HotelJoe Robassa Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar Joe Started Learning Guitar at the age of 8, Influenced by 50's and 60's music, the 1st song Joe learned on guitar was " The House Of The Rising Sun" by the Animals.In 1979 he auditioned as rhythm guitarist with various bands, one was a great rock'n'roll band called Black Slacks. throughout the years played with various cover bands here and there, untill he formed his 1st Original band playing a mixture of covers and Originals written by Joe , performed in various styles of music from Vintage Rock'n'Roll to the Hard Rock scene of the Early 80's, he also performed at various clubs and events in the Italian Music Circuit at major Concerts such as Christmas Carols, Charity Concerts and Song Festivals.In early 2007 Joe Formed his band called "Bebop59" a 3 and 4 piece band playing Rock'n'Roll/Rockabilly with a touch of Blues, Currently Bebop59 is performing only as a Duo at Various places around Melbourne, along side with Great 50's Style Guitarist Anthony Vigilante.Anthony Vigilante (Lead Guitar/Vocals) Anthony has been Playing Guitar since the age of 8. Self taught and playing his 1st song " How much is that dog in the Window". Between 1993 and 1994, Anthony played in his 1st Band which was formed for the local youth group Playing Rhythm and Lead Guitar. He played a very wide selection of 1920' to 1950's music for the Diamond Valley Orchestra from 1994-95. In 1995 till 1997 Anthony worked as Lead guitarist in the 50's swing and jive band "Steppin Out". During that time Anthony was known for his " Scotty Moore" great 50's guitar style. From 1997-2000 Anthony Played with "Rockit" another 50's commercial band. Anthony has also played as a lubricator in the dynamic " Jeannie Lushes and the Lubricators" He has played with various artists playing country, folk and general Rock'n'Roll. Currently working as a duo together with Joe Robassa known as "BeBop59" playing a variation of music from the 50's to today..

Influences: For me it started with Elvis then came the Beatles...and so on, too many great artists to mention..
