Marielena Jácome attained her B.F.A. Degree in Dance Performance at New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL and earned her M.F.A. Degree in Choreography and Performance at Arizona State University. She is currently a Roster Artist through the Arizona Commission on the Arts and she has been a dancer for Calo Flamenco under the direction of MartÃn Gaxiola since June of 2003. She has traveled throughout the U.S. with the Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble and can be seen locally in the Phoenix area at Kazimierz Wine Bar and at the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch with Mosaico.Lena has traveled to Spain to study under La Faraona and La Gallardà and trains regularly with the Calo Flamenco ensemble and Lourdes Rodriguez.
