Known for his classic 1980s Tri-Boro Choir recordings, traditional gospel choir director Bishop Albert L. Jamison Sr. has assembled the CD of his career with the forthcoming Show Yourself Mighty, one of the most highly anticipated releases of the fall. Recorded live before a standing room only congregation on June 15, 2007 at Brooklyn, NY’s Pleasant Grove Tabernacle, a who’s who in gospel came out to solo with Jamison and the New York Mass Choir. Among the luminous voices were Donnie McClurkin, John P. Kee, Hezekiah Walker, Rev. Timothy Wright, Lucinda Moore, Bishop Paul S. Morton, and Melanie Daniels. Jamison is best known for 1979’s Grammy-nominated LP In God’s Own Time, My Change Will Come with the Rev. James Cleveland & the Tri-boro Mass Choir. The long out-of-print project featured the smash radio hit, “Where Do We Go From Here?†A native of Brooklyn, New York, Jamison serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, the Chapter Representative of the Eastern New York Chapter, as well as Pastor of Brooklyn’s Pleasant Grove Tabernacle – the church he was born into as a child. The 52-year-old clergyman is married to Lady Diannette Jamison. They have two sons, Jordan and Joshua Jamison. Jamison’s two most recent Light Records projects are GMWA Live in Kamas City 2004 and GMWA Live in Milwaukee 2005.
