What is culture but the reflection of the people? What better reflection of someone’s culture than its music? Culture of Violence, a Minneapolis based hard rock/metal band, is the reflection of a culture where violence lives in our streets, in our schools, in our jobs and in our homes, and how we buy and sell it. C.o.V. started their career in April 2006. After some changes in their music and line up, they began rocking out several venues in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, making great fans and leaving a positive impression on their local scene. All with the mix of melodies, power, groove and the brutality of their unique musical style.
Each member of the band offers their own facet of music combining the melodies and grooves of modern hard rock and the power, skill and brutality of modern metal. Jorge brings harmonious singing as well as powerful screams, Scott and Steven provide the heavy riffs and shredding leads, backed up by the power grooves by Evan and the impressive beats from The Weave. The combination defines a new genre of heavy rock, yet utilizing classic methods of some of the best musicians the scene has to offer evolving into a new level of music which is CULTURE OF VIOLENCE.
After over 50 shows in the Twin Cities, some to audiences of 400+, and opening for 3 Inches of Blood, Daath, Cattle Decapitation, Epicurean and more, the band has begun their career and fan base with great feedback, leaving a mark amongst everyone who witnesses them. Currently the band is looking to invade the local and national music scene with their unique mix of memorable music and relevant lyrics.
Culture of Violence split up in July 2008, thanks for the memories, help and kind support, we love you all! See you again soon.
