Curt Brewer

Fresh out of high school, I left for Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville (SIUE) to study with legendary 7-string jazz guitarist Rick Haydon. While at SIUE, I spent my time internalizing the recordings of jazz guitar legends Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, and Bucky Pizzarelli. During my college career, I was educated on the essential elements of jazz through the numerous clinics presented by some of the the biggest names in the music. I had the opportunity to learn from legends such as Pat Martino, Houston Person, Terrell Stafford, John Pizzarelli, Benny Green, and Russell Malone. These experiences helped to guide me towards a love of the American songbook and appreciation of the jazz tradition. In May of 2009, I finished my masters in jazz guitar performance and now continue to work professionally in the Midwest music scene.
I am versed in jazz, rock, blues, r&b, and country styles and have a large repertoire of the most known songs from the last 100 years. If needed, I can learn songs very quickly and would be a valuable asset to your project. Feel free to contact me as a "guitarist for hire" for any of your musical needs.
Currently I am working with Lenny Klinger's Galaxy, Country Artist Matt Steel, The Sean Holland Band, Downtime, and Paper Street Retreat.
