About Me

Get Your Own! | View SlideshowFormed in 2000, b o n s p i e l is the creative collaboration of song writers and composers Chris and Bradley. Having played previously together in the seminal art/punk band MISHA FORKE (which included ecclectic solo artist SPOOKEY RUBEN and BRENDAN CANNING of Broken Social Scene), the duo departed from the FORKE to reform as b o n s p i e l and then submerged themselves in their new recording environment, an old abandoned bank located on the water, affectionately known as 'the bank'. Here they forge mature, sohisticated sounds that blend electronic innovations and thick percussive beats with downtempo acoustic sensibilities. Their unique collaboration has grown to include others both in studio and during their exclusive live performances. The partial list of contributers includes...Trevor MacGregor (percussion - 'Treble Charger'), Greg Decker (keyboards - 'Gruvoria')Nick Rawson (mixing, mastering - BMG/Sony)Suba (percussion - 'Gruvoria')Alexa Pinear (cello)Jesse Capon (drums)Mario J (production, remixing - 'Industry', 'ADD')Keith White (drums, guitar, bass, flute, keys, vocals - 'Blue Dog Pict', 'Oliver Twiggins')Naomi Gaskin (vocals - 'Microgroove')Live performances have included celebrated producer/DJ'sJUNIOR SANCHEZSTACEY PULLENMARIO JGREG GOLDSACKKENNY GLASGOW andTEELO'S KITCHEN.Most recently b o n s p i e l have been liscencing their original work to film, TV series and televison commercials. Most notably a striking 60 second commercial for the Canadian Newspaper The Globe and Mail featured their downtempo track LINSMORE to great acclaim. The film ROOM SERVICE was scored and sound designed by b o n s p i e l and has been screened world wide and garnering attention. The latest evolution in the b o n s p i e l is their inclusion of other artists in their expanding liscencing endeavors. Trevor MacGregor (Treble Charger) and Marc Costanzo (Len) are now able to help round out the offerings that b o n s p i e l makes available to various media outlets. At the core of their work is their ongoing recording and writing of material that will soon be available on DVD/CD, a project that has seen them travel the world recording, performing and creating their original material in various hotel rooms and stages in locations as diverse as HAWAII, ROME, VANCOUVER and PARIS. Yet they remain firmly attached to their unique recording environment in the port district of their hometown...'The Bank'.b o n s p i e l is fiercely independant and unusaully approachable.
