The history of Moise “Mistah MO†Calixte, born in October of 1976 in a little town called Port-au-Prince, Haiti, born and raised into a family with five other brothers and two sisters he being the youngest of all the siblings.
Years later, he moved from Haiti to The United States of America and Miami, Florida being the first place he had every seen other than his own country. Three months later, he and his family decided to move from Florida to Somerville, Massachusetts where he was registered and then enrolled into school for ESL (English as a Second Language).Moise’s passion for music began while he was attending the Powder House Elementary School in the year 1988, which was around the same time Michael Jackson was very popular. Moise then began to perform for school dances and school musical concerts due to him feeling inspired by Michael Jackson. A few years later, Moise began to develop his own style of music and dancing, then one day an idea occurred to Moise to put a group of singers and dancers together and named the group “Fi-Nikâ€, which means “Smooth Grooveâ€.A few years later down the road, after performing in a few concerts, recording a single, and being recognized as a group for the first time, all of a sudden a tragedy occurs. One of the “Fi-Nik†group members was murdered by one of his close friends. This leaving the group one member short and without a completed album, which discouraged all the other members of the “Fi-Nik†group, so everyone went their own separate ways to work on their own music careers.
One year later after the group split up Moise decided to work on having his own family and his music. Several years’ later things started looking better with Moise’s music, and then once again He decided to put another group together with all different types of artists that had different styles of singing. Some of the new members even played instruments to make their very own beats that helped them to make
their first demo as a group. In 2006, they met up with the “One Entertainment & Unique Records recording studio†to record their second single which was; “I Wanna Be Your Manâ€, “Hold You Tightâ€, and “Step Aside (which is in Creole and English)â€. After four months of working together as a group, things started going down hill again for a second time with the group, and this is when Moise decided to go solo. Moise then planned to start over with all new materials including working with a new recording studio called “Sonny Productionsâ€. From there, Moise has had the opportunity to work on a project with “Sonny Blaze featuring MO†which is Moise’s new stage name. “MO†has now been working with “Sonny Productions†for a little over a year where he has already recorded a hit song called “She’s Beautiful†which has been and still is being heard on “myspaceâ€. “MO†also performed “She’s Beautifulâ€, “Every Time I Call†and “Let’s Take A Ride†in New York, New Jersey, Cape Cod, Boston, and Cambridge. Last, but not least, “MO†now has been working on his new solo album, which should be released in the year 2008.
