About Me

Our goal is to Save Lives!! How? By getting information out about organ and tissue donation. When a person marks "yes" to organ donation on their driver license or when they sign up on the donor registry, they are stating that if they die, they would be willing to donate organs to save the lives of those people on the waiting list. They may also be able to donate corneas to restore sight to someone who is going blind. They can donate tissue to help burn victims, cancer patients, and may types of injuries. Organ and Tissue donation is not about dying; it's about living. What an incredible legacy to leave!
Intermountain Donor Services (IDS) is responsible for a wide geographic area: Utah, southeastern Idaho, and western Wyoming. Within this area are 2.7 million people, 79 hospitals, 4 transplant centers.
In Utah alone, there are over 350 people awaiting transplants, and a thousand more waiting for tissue donation. Nationally there are over 100,000 people waiting for a life-saving transplant. An average of 18 people die every day waiting for a transplant.
