The Backyard Tour continues.... Here it comes, that dirty van down the alleyway, that's right Ignorant and Poor are playing your little social gatherings of losers, degenerates, posers, Homo's, dropouts, and other various fuck nuts from the surrounding high schools. Since late '97/early'98 Ignorant and Poor has been providing laughs and background music to your fights, bathroom blowjobs and puke sessions. Highlights of their career include: Playing upstairs in a tiny one room apartment in North Hollywood, winning a battle of the bands at the Martini Lounge and getting kicked out afterwards and playing to almost nonexistent crowds weeknights at the Cobalt Cafe. Members have come and gone to more hopeful prospects and yet I continue to play and put together new lineups. That's because I like doing it. There's no message, its not about money, it's not about getting signed to punkcore, and it ain't about trends. When we started no one in the valley gave a shit about punk. And I know you have those old Korn, Tool, Nirvana, MXPX, Silverchiar, Offspring, Blink 182 and NOFX shirts packed away in a drawer somewhere with your KROQ key chains to prove it. So I'm not gonna go and categorize our music for you and say we're a street-oi-gutter-punk-brat-kinda-singalongish-melodic-politi cal-aware-revolutionary band rising out of the barrios to express their anger about the current state of affairs. I don't give a shit, my current state is drunk off my ass! Playing music for people who like to fuck, drink, smoke, stink, vomit, sleep on floors is what we like to do. So next time some Fucknut says "we're a punkish-type of band with grungy underwear" go see 'em! What else is there to do? But just know that they're full of shit.
