Type Jordan/Typewriter Tim-typewriter player,etc

I play typewriters as a percussive instrument. The idea came from a culmination of a spiritual vision when my grandfather died, wanting to play drums but not being able to afford them or have a place to play, and loving the typewriter/drum battle on Stewart Copeland's soundtrack for the movie "Rumble Fish". Right after I had that vision in college, I started blow torching typewriters in 1/2 when someone said I couldn't. Now after I torch them in 1/2, I pour molten glass through them @ 3rd Degree Glass Studio in St. Louis, and call them sculpture. I grew up here in STL, went to the University of Kansas, formed the 1st Typewriter Band where I typed onstage and did performance art with a 20 piece jazz/funk band, moved briefly back to STL where I had a 4 piece funk/rock/reggae Typewriter Band, moved to Atlanta for 2 years until I was brought to an important part of my spiritual path. I them moved out to Los Angeles where I worked and learned from people with Autism as my full time job. I've worked extensively with preschool kids to adults with autism and other labels of disability. While there, I got certified in massage therapy and cut a record with longtime friend, Steve Ewing from one of my favorite bands The Urge. I subsequently burned out at my job, spiritual practice, and money so I packed up and drove back to St. Louis at 45 mph in 3 days to start my life over again. I got my act together and now practice yoga everyday, I work out & go to Hatha & Kundalini yoga classes 3-5 days a week, eat healthy, support local businesses, ride my GT cruiser, meditate, and focus on the power of the mind/body connection. I also write/produce/direct/star in films ranging from the b&w arthouse silent "Bodybagman" series (SOCAL filmfest 2 years running) and I'm currently working on a world changing documentary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciPpFBlbVMg) about my friend Shawn Lapin (who happens to have severe autism) and I trying to make a major movie about his life (please check out the song "Type With Me" that was written by Shawn & myself, produced by and guest vocals by Steve Ewing). "The Necrophiliac/Nymphomaniac Chronicles" is the next installment in the Bodybagman thang, currently in production. I also bartend @ Schlafly Bottleworks (though I've been sober for since '97), own my own businesses-Your Type Productions LLC & Ocean Sun Therapies LLC. I also speak about my experiences with Autism and do consultations as well. One of my ultilmate dreams is to open what I call A.R.T.I.S.M. (Art Related Therapies Including Sound & Massage) which is a art/music studios, a massage school, gym, & computer/communication access/training facility & green transportation for the integration of community & people with labels of disability or social security.
