SAULT STE. MARIE - Two area teams landed spots in the first Upper Peninsula football poll of the season, which was released today by the U.P. Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association.Cedarville (3-0) is No. 2 in the Little Five poll, while St. Ignace (3-0) is ranked No. 4 in the Big Five.The Cedarville Trojans have outscored their three opponents 141-13, and are coming off a 41-0 shutout against North Central.Another group of Trojans retains the No. 1 position in the Little Five poll, as Crystal Falls-Forest Park received all 20 first-place votes. North Dickinson (3-0) which outlasted Pickford 58-56 in three overtimes last week, is No. 3, followed by Lake Linden-Hubbell (3-0) at No. 4 and Bark River-Harris (2-1) in the Little Five.Iron Mountain (3-0) is No. 1 in the Big Five poll, and picked up four first-place votes. Menominee (2-1) is second, but received 10 first-place votes. Negaunee (3-0) is third and also had six first-place votes. Gladstone (2-1) is ranked No. 5.
