<brThe Revolution is history! Yes, the Rev was part of the DeKalb music and retail scene for over 35 years. I closed the store on April 26, 2009. I kept it going as long as I could but the fact that customers now acquire their music via other means, helped speed the process along. I loved the resurgance of the interest in vinyl but it did not offset the steep decline in new CD sales. You know the story of indy music retail. I do not have to site each and every reason that I closed the Rev.I really miss the regulars that came by the store to chat and buy. You know who you are. Now I sell music on Amazon, mainly CD's that are of value and are out of print. This fall I intend to start selling my vast poster, memoribilia and vinyl collection on other sites such as E-Bay and Gemm.Currently I am retired and living on a lake near Traverse City Michigan. My daily activities include fishing, golfing, sailing, skin diving, biking and hiking.I guess after 35+ years of the retail grind, that is what you hope to do. I still check in on the internet and communicate with friends and some old customers. The closing party at The House Cafe on April 25th was a blast. Memories, music and tequila flowed! Pictures of the event and the last days of the Rev are available for viewing on www.recordrev.comThanks again for checking in and feel free to drop me a line at [email protected] 'The Chief' Cerny
