Meet Utopia Joe. He’s an artist hacking out a living in the land of red dirt, pickup trucks, and corporate office spaces. He uses latex, paint, and cordless drills like a Zen Master with a T-Square. Joe takes common building materials and creates some of the most surreal artistic environments that you simply have to see to believe. He’s an OCD neat freak, draws on his jeans, and refuses to use words like periwinkle and chartreuse. He’s been on HGTV, inked comics for Marvel, preached Jesus to the masses, and can fix a leaky toilet with bubble gum and a paper clip. But that’s not all. Complimenting hack saws and grinders, Joe mixes in the rich sound of live music, colorful characters, and creates a one-of-kind show like nothing seen before. It’s about making art, power tools, great friends, underground shows, and heartfelt music. You won’t catch this on VH1 or CMT. It’s in Hi-Def this fall on PBS.
