It was freshmen year. Brooklyn-born rapper Damien L. Solomon (known by the moniker Redd Xmaz) was a Media Production major at Morris Brown College when a chance encounter with Konvict Records CEO and T-Pain’s manager, Abou Thiam, would change his life forever. Shortly after their paths crossed, Redd Xmaz, alongside brothers Abou, Omar and Akon Thiam, started The United Nations record label and formed the rap group, Crookid Figures.Although The United Nations disbanded as Akon’s fame and popularity grew, Redd Xmaz held on to his aspiration of becoming an artist in his own right. Immersing himself in Atlanta's fertile music business, Redd Xmaz became a staple on the Atlanta hip-hop scene, rubbing elbows and touring with top recording artists like Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, The Game, Raekwon, Ghost Face Killa, Method Man, Red Man, Q-Tip, Pharell, Teddy Riley, Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Jay Z, Goodie Mobb, Outkast, and Pastor Troy.These days, Redd Xmaz has been busy working in the studio with Mack Maine and Lil Wayne and focusing on producing his debut record.
