Influences:Born to Guyanese and Panamanian parents, King-I-Divine entered the world as Sean Maxwell on January 27, 1982. Growing up in New York City, when hip hop and R&B were in their prime, music became a very influential factor in his life. As a result, King-I Divine’s style of production often utilizes dusty kicks and snares, reminiscent the booming 1990’s urban sound. His main tools are old records and the MPC 1000. According to the young composer, Wu-Tang Clan producer RZA, along with Pete Rock, DJ Premier, and the Neptunes, heavily influenced his style. King-I is also inspired by a range of artists- from early 90’s groups like Boot Camp Click and Jodeci to musical greats such as Stevie Wonder and Sam Cooke. King-I-Divine recently graduated from Berklee College of Music, earning a Master Certificate of Production. He is the CEO and owner of King-I Entertainment based out of Atlanta, GA
