About Me

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"Hi there. I'm the Reverend Todd Baker and perhaps you're wondering, "What The Hell Was That?" Well, It originally began as a public access television show in Columbus, Ohio in 1994 and has since grown into a worldwide phenomenon. Ok, that may be a bit of an exageration, but in time, who knows? I've found there are many people who share my feelings about Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and the entire Reagan/Bush I/Bush II administration Strength in numbers, people.Sure, voicing my opinion may land me on a few black books in Washington D.C. but I've always said I would be willing to take a bullet for progress. To me, there are still certain things I consider worth fighting for. Greed is not a legitimate reason for war. The right to say whatever the hell I want, on the other hand, is something I will die defending. Plus, I like to drink, smoke, use profanity and sometimes I talk dirty. Essentially, I take pleasure in saying whatever the (explitive) I want because that is my right as an American. If you have a problem with that, then that is YOUR problem. This is ADULT humor, people! If you don't like what I have to say, turn it off! That is the simple premise of my program and it confuses many people, hence the title. Because after watching a good half hour of me bitching about the Federal government, conspiracy theories, pro-life advocates, fundamentalist Christians, insurance companies, corporate whores, bad actors, soul-less singers, the lady at my office who likes American Idol, and all the other people who insist on settling for the lowest common denominator of entertainment many people say...."WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" It's this kind of attitude that I take with me on stage when I perform stand-up comedy as well. I started out in the shitty clubs of Columbus, Ohio and worked my way up to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip...only to get paid even less than the shitty clubs in Ohio. That led me to New Orleans and a life of decadance and debauchery at a level I had never experienced before. Luckily, I did not require rehab and still visit the Crescent City whenever possible. It truly is the center of the Universe and I recommend you visit. Since then I've bounced between Ohio and Pennsylvania(where my folks live) and somehow I ended up in Georgia. That probably has something to do with a band called Drive By Truckers. You see, I'm addicted to them. I've been following them around the country for over three years and I just can't stop. In fact, I'm currently writing a book about all my DBT adventures. It's called "Ticket Stubs-Volume 5- The DBT Years" I'm still working on Volumes 1 through 4. Anyhow, it's almost done and when it is I'll move on to finishing the other volumes including Jimmy Buffett, The Grateful Dead and Wateshed (the greatest band EVER!) Finally, volume one will be a collection of all the rest: Bob Dylan, The Who, The Stones, AC/DC, KISS, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, The Eagles, Warren Zevon, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty, Chuck Berry, Clutch, Metallica, Guns N Roses and the list goes on. You can pre-order NOW and avoid the Christmas rush! Ohterwise, keep checking back for new You Tube clips of "What The Hell Was That?"
