DAYTONA BEACH - Bennie Joe Barrs, 44, of South Street, who retired from the City of Daytona Beach Water Department, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center. Mr. Barrs, an Army veteran, was born in Daytona Beach, and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a graduate of Seabreeze High School and attended Bethune-Cookman College. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, cooking, music and sports. Survivors include a daughter, Shequita Barrs, Daytona Beach; his father, Elijah Barrs, San Diego; his mother, Mary Barrs, Daytona Beach; five brothers, Henry, Dallas, Casey and Corey, both of San Diego, Tony, Atlanta, and Calvin, Tampa; and two sisters, Carolyn Barrs, Daytona Beach, and Courtney Robinson, San Diego...
