I am here for Friends

About Me

Me? Well, there's not much to tell, and this page is for people who already know me. I just got a dog though, so like an excited new mommy, I'll show cutesy photos and videos of my adopted friend, a Bugg (Boston Terrier/Pug) named Chug (no, I didn't name him, he came that way). I'm putting a 2 month limit on this cheesy dog-lover theme, but until then I'll continue the barrage of cute.

Chug and Simone at Uncle Troy's party

My first live-action digitally edited movie, aka, how to kill time when bored at work. This is the re-edit.

My Interests

Going out and hanging out with friends, working to shorten the never-ending home improvement "to-do" list, movies, current events, theater, interesting conversations, and finding the humor in everyday adventures.

I'd like to meet:

I'm really just here to keep in touch with friends from across the country. I'm not on this much and I'm really not looking to collect 5,000,000 random myspace friends, but I guess I am technically open to meeting some cool new people. And by cool, I mean you are fun, friendly, don't have a close-up photo of you (or your girlfriends') thong as your main profile pic, were never given the nickname "Psycho" by anyone other than an older sister, and can either take a joke or tell one.

Movies:

I so am behind in my moviewatching that Travis may soon drop me from his list of potential movie-buddies, but I swear I really am a big movie buff. So much so that I used to work behind the scenes in various jobs in the film industry in LA. I'll pretty much watch everything but horror, and I don't like horror for the same logic behind why I didn't eat spicy food as a kid: why do something that hurts? There are too many favorites here, so I'll leave it at anything from Bill Murray's glory days (Ghostbusters, Stripes, etc) and the more recent good comedies like Wedding Crashers. South Florida isn't great for seeing indie films, but I'll absorb, analyze, and ponder them when I get the chance.

Television:

When I have the time I'll watch anything my Tivo saved for me, from dramas to comedies to sports. Particular favorites are Lost and Grey's Anatomy, and I rarely miss my fake news from The Daily Show & The Colbert Report, and my real news from CNN and Meet the Press (a 10-to-1 ratio of fake-to-real is enough to consider myself informed, right?). My parents are big South Park fans and they recently got me re-hooked on that show, too. Yes, my parents love South Park....that should explain a lot.

Books:

I admit I haven't read a book for pleasure in a while. Actually, the last books were these rather obscure novels I'm not sure many people have heard of -- some book about an artist's secret "code" and a quaint series of books about a certain boy wizard. Yeah, not exactly highbrow reading ... so sue me.
