Gosh from Yaputhma

About Me

At first there were Pasaki Onkuliem Ata and Yaputhma Sound System .

And then... The last years spent on Earth, 1996-99 (before leaving for planet Yaputhma for an indefinite exile/hiatus), resulted in exploring lo- and mid-fi computer musick science. Bye to electric guitar, rock clubs, shows & festivals, then raves and techno clubs. Hello bedroom vigils, highly local web self-promotion, live sets on 2 comps, ambient massage courses & hard drive crashes. And then... see you someday on Yaputhma where the weather is always exactly as you want it.

My Interests

Music:

Influences: At the time of activity (the 90's) - B.Eno, R.Fripp, L.Anderson, Robert Nesta Marley, all the classic 4AD stuff, madchester, delayed guitar of The Edge and Michael Brook, Sonic Youth, Seefeel, trance from 90's & Chicago house (initially), then Autechre, Detroit techno, british jungle & IDM (subsequently). All the rest is [modern] history. Which means, I can talk for hours about the great music I'm raving about at any given moment...

Ok, the greatest heroes from modern history could be, in no particular order: Sufjan Stevens - Pipas - Hauschka - Alva Noto/Sakamoto - AGF - Fennesz - Burial - Cat Power - Feist - Taken by Trees - New Buffalo - Taylor Deupree - Vladislav Delay - Stephan Mathieu - Rhythm & Sound/BC - Deepchord/Echospace - Ricardo Villalobos - Onur Özer - Arcade Fire/Bell Orchestre - LCD Soundsystem - Ensemble - Sigur Ros - Wechsel Garland - Tarwater - Erlend Oye - Barbara Morgenstern - Quio - Mathew Jonson - Kenny Larkin - Postal Service - Steve Reich - Pan American - TBA (Tusia Beridze) - Tujiko Noriko - Oren Ambarchi - Keith Fullerton Whitman - Takagi Masakatsu - David Sylvian (rocks better now then in the 90s!) - I definitely forgot a few dozens more... And I guess I should name the whole dubstep scene en mass.

The best (studio/released) mixes I ever heard are from Tobi Neumann (fliederlieder), Tom Middleton, Appleblim, Vaccine, Miss Kittin, Laurent Garnier, Anton Kubikov, Cassy, Ame, and the last but not the least - new-dub-com (comfort noise, p45) - check!!!
