WESLEY DIAMOND - Born and raised in Kingston Jamiaca is a man filled with music that deals with the struggles of the people and the everyday aspects of life. His early days of singing began in a church choir. After recognition of his talent by his family and friends he decided to record. His debut single was " Run For Your life " which he did with Hitman Wally for CB Production in 1989. This was followed by " Jah Love Is Easy " in 1990 with Skullman.
This followed with combinations with Lexus, Polka Dot, Snow Cone, Sugar Slick, Don T and a whole host of others. In 2000 - 2006 he did the song " No More I Lie " for Sly Gordon's 321 Strong Label, "Faraway" for the Platinum Label, " Don't Stop Try " for Call Me Shams Label, " Life Of Gangster " for Jah Snow Cone Label and " Gun Ting " on the Big Yard Label in collaboration with Kiprich.
To maintain a positive focus so he may continue to write influential music Wesley takes to the countryside from time to time. He states that he has written some of his best work in settings that are calm and natural. He likes to get away from the noise often associated with city life.
Currently he has done " Bad Mind and Greed " and " Sail Away " on Jah Snow Cone Label. " Nah Tek no talk " on Juke Boxx Label, " Nah Give Up " and "Garrison Life" on The Big Yard Label. " Stylie " in collaboration with Uni Corn on Hands and Heart Label, " Bust it up " in collaboration with Red Rat on Izizes Production, "Tell Me A Who" on The House Of Stars Label and " You Can't Dis Gangsters " in collaboration with Shaggy and The Big Yard Family on the GT Label which was apart of the sound track for the movie SHOTTA. The newest of all is " Bad Mind Hafi Go Dung " on Jah Snow Cone Label on the Sober Krunck Riddim, which will be tearing up the charts real soon.
Wesley's recording consistently and is a perceftionist. With his songs often being relationship or reality oriented it allows people to quickly grasp hold of and sing along. 2008 for Wesley is about striving above and beyond. With his way of hard work, determination and drive he is destined to reach new heights. Look out for more good music!
