Hillbillies and Electricity Do Mix!!!

About Me

Before I was born it was dark and I was alone. Sometime during the first trimester I .... ok, a little too detailed there, huh?I was born in Wise County, Virginia and still consider it home. I'm from a tiny town named Coeburn. Blink and you'll miss it. :-)Musically, I began playing saxophone as a kid and learned to play several other band instruments before I left high school. I really got into playing guitar in ninth grade and haven't looked back. I moved to Tennessee in 1996 and was in Nashville-proper by 1997. Music brought me here and has kept me here. What am I looking for out of my music? Mainly, to enjoy it. If I can't do that then why do it at all? If a few other people enjoy it along the way then all the better! All the material you'll hear on my page was written, recorded, produced, and mixed by me in my home studio. I don't have a world-class studio but I do ok with what I have. I don't do loops either. If I want an instrument on my song, I learn to play it. At last count, I played about 17 instruments. I hope you enjoy. Also if you're someone interested in playing or writing some music, feel free to drop me a line. Or if you'd like a decent demo to get some gigs with or whatever, I'd like to work with you. Myspace Contact Tables target=_blankMySpace Codes

Band Members: Well, there's me and.... well yeah, that's about it. If you hear it on here, it's me.
Influences: What a strange list this will be. My influences are vast and very eclectic when looked at together.I'm a huge fan of early rockabilly music. Elvis is still my all-time favorite and a huge influence. Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis also influenced me early on.The Beatles, Hendrix, the Band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, KISS, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Parliament, Black Sabbath, Elton John, the Eagles, Steve miller Band, Bob Seger, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top, Tom Petty, Van Halen, Ozzy (particularly the stuff with Randy), Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Petra, Second Chapter of Acts, Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, Degarmo and Key, DC Talk, Third Day, Audio Adrenaline, Jacob's Trouble, Los Lonely Boys, Kid Rock, Eminem, Ralph Stanley, Jim and Jesse McReynolds, the Osborne Brothers, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Nickel Creek, Ricky Scaggs, Bela Fleck, Tony Rice, the Carter Family, Bill Monroe, Goose Creek Symphony, Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Big and Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Keith Urban, Dwight Yoakam, Dierks Bentley, the Dixie Chicks, Lynyrd Skynryd, Travis Tritt, Kenny Chesney, Alabama, Charlie Daniels Band.A few of the above really hold special places as influences - Elvis made me want to play music period. Ace Frehley of KISS made me want to play guitar. Keith Green and Jacob's Trouble were huge for me as well. Ralph Stanley made me love bluegrass. Goose Creek Symphony was the first music I remember liking as a child. My style is heavily influenced by them, at least on the stuff you'll hear here.
Sounds Like: You tell me and we'll both know! Honestly, the songs represented here are but one facet of my musical life. I'm working on a commercial country songwriting deal right now, so I'm leaving that stuff off here. Mainly what you'll hear is a hybrid of bluegrass and rock that I've kinda fell into making.
Record Label: Um... Yeah, Ok
