I have been singing since I could talk and have been playing acoustic guitar (rythm) off and on since I was 12 years old... Although I have taken vocal lessons I have had no formal training on the guitar... I had a little training when I was in high school, in piano and clarinet, but I haven't really kept up with it.... Basically I will try any instrument I can get my hands on and If someone is willing to teach me then that is even better... I have dabbled with the sax, trombone, trumpet, harmonica and whatever else people will let me try... I am always willing to learn... My father is a drummer and I grew up in the bars watching him play in his Country Rock band... There were also many nights I fell asleep to the sound of the drums, because he would be practicing in the basement, the drum kit right underneath my bed... "OK kids, time to go to bed".... Yah, right!... You Try going to sleep with a full band underneath your bed! ... Although I cannot play a kit, I do have a natural ability at hand drums and own a couple of different size dejembe's... Probably from listening to the beats so often below me when I was a child.... When I was in high school I was involved with many different choral groups and most of my vocal training is in classical music..... I also got involved in the school musicals, sound/stage set up and crew, and even joined band my senior year.... busted my butt the summer before to be ready and have to say it was one of the best experiences I have ever had... I will always be grateful for it and although I really would not want to go back to high school, if I could go just for all the music I was involved in, I would.... Now I play out every once in a while, basically at local open mics.... The guitar has always been something I pick up and put down off and on through out the years... I find it difficult to stick with... I am mainly a singer... I would love someday to have an acoustic band ( rythm, lead, hand drums) behind me so I can put down the guitar and just sing.... But I would settle just for a lead guitar player :-).... So if you are interested, hit me up!... So for now, you can catch me playing solo at the local open mics... I will have music up soon ...
