About Me

I regard myself as a progressive democrat. I totally reject most conservative and republican ideas as I regard them to be, not only behind the times, but serious obstacles to progress and, in some cases, downright morally reprehensible. I have my own way of seeing things as my blog posts will show. Although I imagine some democrats and liberals won't share every one of my ideas or opinions, I do recognize that they will probably be the most open to new ideas and so hence my choice of political affiliation is with them.I believe liberal ideas will ultimately advance society and conservative ones will hold advancement back.
Some things I stand for or believe in:
- A Self-sufficient socialism reached with technological advancements where, ultimately, no one is dependent on the labor of another, but where socialism can assist in distributing those technological advancements.
- Any technology that brings the cost of living down and frees people from the necessity of being wage slaves.
- Any efficient and clean power source that can make off-grid homes a reality for the masses. Think solar, wind, etc.
- Any feasible, clean, alternative vehicle and fuel source. Think Air Car
- Education: School should be conducted entirely online. Use technology to save money. It would save millions in taxpayer money for books and for building schools. Any positive social interactions that go on between children can be conducted elsewhere, i.e, recreation, camp, etc...
- Research into cloning on two fronts:
1. At the medical level. To cure long standing illnesses such as cancer.
2. For private food production. (Yes, we have already cloned food in petri dishes on small levels). To combat hunger as well as transfer the job of food production to the individual family and thus eliminate the majority of, if not all, food bills for everyone.
Basically, I believe the products of capitalism can help achieve the above goals with the ultimate goal of capitalism eventually phasing itself out by producing sustainable and self-sufficient technologies to the masses. Liberalism, Progressivism, Socialism can win, if we use technological advancements to our advantage and learn how to use them to advance our arguments and points against capitalism. Any technology that frees the individual from the necessity of working for a wage to pay for something vital to their subsistence, like food or electricity, should be strongly advocated by liberals, progressives and socialists. The less people must work for others to support themselves, the less social discontent there will be. And the corollary of that is (which die-hard capitalists might approve of), the more self-sufficient and independent technology enables people to become for their basic subsistence, the less they will rely on your (other people's) tax money to survive. So here's a shocker: if you want LESS taxes in the future, vote for a tree hugging liberal. Their advocacy of eco-friendly and sustainable living models will eventually bring your taxes down. Why would you want to fight that?I advocate what can best be described as a "self-sufficient" socialism that uses technology, the products of capitalism, to provide sustainable living models to humanity and thus eventually free up people from the dependence on each other.
- Conservatism does not equal America.
- If you're a supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces, and you're going to state that socialism is fundamentally flawed, you're going to have to face the fact that the U.S. military is supported by socialism. So which is it? Is socialism only flawed when liberals advocate it for their causes but not for yours?
I just want to also apologize upfront to everyone who has or is kind enough to comment my profile or blog. I will not always be able to return every comment because of personal time constraints...Additionally, I have had many accusing me of generalizing against conservatives. Let me make this clear. My blogs and comments are NOT there to account for or explain every single freak exception among conservatives and the republican party. They are about what conservativism and republicanism stand for, as a whole, in practice and attitudes, in the final analysis. For instance, to the extent that a conservative is for more regulation of corporations, they are a democrat or liberal because that's what the majority of liberals and democrats are for and what a majority of conservatives are against. If you hold views contrary to mainstream conservatism and continue to label yourself as a "conservative", don't blame or cite me for generalizing. Why don't you just get your party affiliation straight?
