Welcome to the Sick & Twisted Players archives.... (now see us on YouTube!) So here's our story: In December of 1990, Tony Vaguely founded (with Omewenne and the late-great Michael G. Page), produced and directed a theater troupe called "The Sick and Twisted Players" which became legends of San Francisco's performance scene. After an exhausting decade of productions, the final curtain was drawn to pursue other projects, or to assist surviving members to asylums. Since then S&T have inspired a generation of groups who now perform similar types of productions, but The Sick & Twisted Players started a whole new trend when it came to this kind of mutated theater experience, and were the very first to present full-length lunatic stagings of such horror and disaster films as The Exorcist: A Dance Macabre (with interpretive dance), The Poseidon Adventure, The Omen in "Satani-Vision" with Mary Poppins!, The Brady Bunch & Partridge Family Friday The 13ths, Texas Chainsaw 90210, Rosemary's Baby, Poltergeist The Play, The Stepford Wives, The Towering Inferno, and most notably the first non-musical production of "CARRIE" live on stage, even inviting Mr. DePalma and other film alumni to the premiere. S&T Players were also performing live Partridge Family club acts at the same time the "Real-Live Brady Bunch" became popular. Some S&T Players highlights include several awards (one for Best Postmodern Theatrical Troupe), benefits for AIDS charities and animal rights groups, and gaining notoriety with appearances on HBO, AMC, the BBC, KRON, KOFY, a Fangoria Weekend of Horrors, plus a special invitation from the "Burning Man" promoters for a performance of our Towering Inferno Play (S&T declined due to some logistical problems). But the moment that Sick & Twisted will probably end up being remembered for, mostly for posterity if nothing else, is for being included on the bonus disc of extras for The Poseidon Adventure Special Edition DVD (the 1972 original).
