About Me

Hi! Thought I’d let you know a few thing about me... I grew up in the small village Brattvåg on the West coast of Norway. I took an interest in music early, being exposed to all kinds of music through my musical family. Sadly I must admit to having played in a marching band for years, it being the default choice for a kid with a love for music in rural Norway in the ’80s. Please don’t hold it against me! Later on, as puberty struck, it dawned on me that the Cornet was not my voice, so I went ahead and got a new instrument just about as far from the Cornet that I could.. The electric bass. From that moment I was not just interested in music anymore. I fell in love with it. My idea of a great time became to spend time with my bass, exploring harmony and the endless uninverse of improvisation. It still is, and each day I discover just how far I have left to go. These constant "slaps in the face" are not dissapointing, they are inspiring, and it gives me joy to learn something new about my craft every day! ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------- Today I’m enjoying life as a freelance musician in the Oslo area with its ups and downs. I’m blessed to be working with some great musicians and friends. You know who you are!Gigs include Jack Rubinacci, various event/party outfits and a bit of subbing for Oslo-based players like Per Mathisen and Ole Marius Melhuus. I also do a fair bit of production work.
