My name is Princess Emmanuelle a.k.a. Empress*1.... ~*~ I am a Twenty Three year-old British female artist of Afrikan and Arabian heritage (Connect mainly to my 'Sa'eiyda' Upper Egyptian roots). ~*~ I have been brought up in West London all my life, however have stepped out of the area to train, perform and widen my horizons. ~*~ I am a Dancer, Performance Poet (Rap-Poetess), Choreographer, Actress, Lyricist, and an emerging Filmmaker with a strong background in Drama and the Performing Arts as well as being a freelance Youth Worker. ~*~ At the moment I am a Freelance Artist that has completed her 1st Spoken Word album "Born Into a Drowning World" which is a launch for the play/film script soon to be complete. ~*~ The pre-release to the second album "Rise Above Da Waters" is being promoted and sold in many record stores, very few exclusive tracks are on this (i.e.a big 13 or 17 depending whereyou go!!!) It was originally created for the play/film script that I started March 2002 and am in the process of completing, where some of the tracks will be included. In brief without giving too much away, it is about a British Kamitan (Egyptian) sistah called Kierassa, her struggle in life trying to connect to anything and anyone she can relate to; however in England, she goes through pain and disappointment, finally realising all she was looking for is already there if only she has more trust. It is dealing with finding one's identity, culturally and spiritually in the midst of chaos in an alienated environment, in a lost and drowning world; it is also about friendship and spiritual bonds, the support that arises from places you would not expect when there is no hope left. I aim to give you a taste of this story throughout the album, and present the play in the theatre and the feature film very soon into the future!
