About Me

Name: Paul van Geldrop
Age: 26 years old
Bio:

I started playing keys at the age of 8. After seven years of lessons, I discovered the wonders of MIDI and writing own material. I spent about a year and a half playing a local metal-band called 'Halo' (not to be confused with the present incarnation or the one before that..) till the band broke up. Before the break-up, we recorded a short demo at the Pink Noise Studio in Eindhoven, where I first met producer and engineer John Dircke.

In 2001, I recorded my first short demo ("Shadowless Days") at the same studio, working with John again. I made another attempt in 2003-2004, recorded the slightly longer, but still short "Odds&Ends", once again with John. In 2005, I started on a new album together with John, who had become a friend throughout time with whom I enjoyed discussing music, ambitions and various matters. Unfortunately, John passed away in early 2006.

These days, I focus on songwriting and composition. Apart from various sideprojects (including filmmusic and studiowork), I'm presently working on a new CD. I'll be askng a few great musicians to perform with me on stage and hope to start the first shows in late 2007.

It occurred to me today that despite all the work I've put into music the past years, I've never brought out a CD. This, of course, is silly, because there is definitely a CD to bring out.In 2004, I r...

What’s the story ?

It has been a bit quiet on my MySpace lately, as some of you may have noticed. Now, there are several ways to interpret this; for example, one might think that I've stopped MySpace-ing altogether. A v...

This Ain't Hollywood

It has taken some time, but finally I've managed to finish a new song. It's called 'This Ain't Hollywood' and is, without a doubt, a club-jazz-like song. The rough mixes were finished a week or two ag...
