SO this is how 200 More Heroes got started and where we're at the moment.
Rewind back to some time in 2004, two mates listen to a demo of a band one of them used to be in (Nick Gray - Vox), the other (Chris Reardon - Lead) decides they should start a band. Members were recruited later on that year in the forms of Nick Otter(drums) and Lloyd Hall(bass).
Early practices consisted of a few covers to warm up before playing around and making songs. It was slow at first but early 2005 we had 5 tunes which we recorded on an apple laptop in Garage Band.
Sadly due to personal reasons, bassist and come to be close friend Lloyd Hall had to return to America and leave the band.
R.I.P. Lloyd Hall's place in the band. However at the end of summer, a saviour walked through the Gray family household to his first band practice, and it was Oli Frewin. Funnily enough after the departure of Lloyd we decided to go down a heavier route as we were bored of the punk pop antics we'd been playing.
For a solid school year, late 2005 to early 2006 we wrote a number of songs constantly ditching them to achieve better musical ability. Come the end of the school year when all of the lads had done their GCSE's they had decided to record at World End Sound Studios by the end of the summer under the name of Helpless Aid.
Though recording proved a larger test than thought, the end product being some pretty dull songs. Though this had a positive effect, which spurred them on to write even more complex songs, while they also decided to recruit a second guitarist. After various people coming in to practise with the band, Chris Trenchard was found.
With the new lineup in place, new songs came thick and fast having found the. From that day they went from being Helples Aid to 200 More Heores - a change for the better.
