Black Mass Reverends, the ultimate national touring Black Label Society tribute band based in th US is the brainchild of mutual BLS fans Doug Bryan, former Plan B lead guitarist & studio / live session guitarist and Black Label Society New Jersey Chapter Member, and session bassist extrodinaire Armando Rodriguez of the Black Label Society New York Chapter. The main vision the pair had when undertaking such a task at hand was to musically sound exactly like their original counterparts in every way possible. This was not an easy feat but with alot of time invested, the fruits of their labor were recently realized one day over an impromptu jam sesssion when both Bryan and Rodriguez were trying to figure out what direction they should go in next as Plan B, the band Doug played lead guitar in fizzled out with its members all undertaking new musical projects, and both realized that the session gigs in the area were becoming few and far in between. The pair knew they wanted to work together but could not figure out what they both wanted to do. " I wanted to do something different from what I did in the past with other bands", Doug states. "When Armando and I got to talking we realized that everything around the tri state area here has been changing at a rapid pace on the local music scene and we didn't want to fall victim to the current ever changing trend, so we decided that our best course of action was to put together a tribute band to pay our respects and give our most ultimate thanks back to the one band that has meant the most to both of us all these years and without hesitation we both knew that band to be Black Label Society. ' Not only is this going to be the most fun we will without doubt ever have out on the live scene but it gives us a chance to do something I think we have always wanted to do which is to show our ultimate appreciation to Zakk, Craig, J.D., and Nick in the form of this tribute band as our ultimate way of telling them thanks for doing what they have done so far musically and we are looking forward to them gracing us with their presence musically and otherwise for many years to come."No doubt BLS fans and Chapter Members alike will be treated to as close an authentic sounding tribute as the original band. The band hopes that as the live shows come and go starting in early 2008, that you get the feeling that until the real Black Label Society comes to visit your area from a live perspective that they were able to fill in the void of their absence until they come back to rock live with all of you.At current, the band is finalizing thier lineup. Once the lineup is solidified, the band will enter the recording studio to record their version of selected BLS tracks and will be gigging live in early 2008. A standardized dot com website is in current development and will debut in late November 2007.So Black Label Society fans come one and come all. Black Mass Reverends has offically arrived and will be kicking some ass on the live circut in early 2008.
