D-Tweed aka DJ D-Blendz started off DJ’ing at the age of 11 with just two belt drive turntables, a Gemini mixer and a crate of records borrowed from his parents. Through his love for music, he would consider himself more of an entertainer than a DJ. His job is not to just play music but it’s to entertain the public while bringing a smile to their face. D-Blendz wants to make his audience appreciate music regardless of genre. This is one of many things that set D-Blendz apart; he is not scared to embrace new music, technology and styles to push the envelope. This ability allows him to rock any crowd.
As D-Blendz passion for music grew so did his curiosity. He briefly dabbled in the world of production helping to produce demos for upcoming neighborhood artist. This interest in production/remixing lead him to an internship at Penalty Records where he promoted groups such as Capone & Norega and Crooked Lettaz (David Banner). Through his hard work and contacts he made at Penalty he was able to get a brief stint at Loud Records in 97 before eventually ending up working at Roc-A-Fella Records during their break out year.
D-Blendz helped promote and market marquee artist such as Big Pun, Jay-Z, Fat Joe, Cam’ron and many others leading to sales in over 17 million records. Due to travel, work and school, D-Blendz had to take a break from the DJ’ing world however after a 5 year hiatus he is back and embracing the new technology.
With the motto "No longer am I a DJ but I’m an entertainer". D-Blendz is back on the scene. While he still DJs the regular house parties that helped break him on the scenes the technology that came along since his start will allow him to be a true performer/entertainer. Keep an eye out for D-Tweed in 2008.
