Born out of the primordial ooze that was Exmouth Community College in the late 1980's, Leaving Nutwood quickly set about capturing innocent members of the student populus and enslaving them in a sordid world of fetid hedonistic pursuits.
LN: Formed in the winter of 1991 by Tim, Andrew, Steve and Gaz. Steve, Andrew and Gaz were already getting a band thingy together with another chum, likewise Tim was doing his own thing with some beer swilling metalheads. Andrew recalls getting along famously in a 4th year physics class with Tim and Steve:
'We expressed our likes and dislikes and found they were uncannily similar, next thing I knew we were making some kind of new sound in what amounted to a shed on the outskirts of the school's lower site, otherwise known as the viewing room'.
As the band progressed, Gaz, needed to make a regretable exit from Nutwood and thus a call was sent for a plucker of the four stringed kind... Enter new bass player, Jonny P. With a new slap n pop influence, LN just went from strength to strength; finding a pop funk groove with the grittiness of 80's rapcore/shred metal and fused it with funky riffs and injecting a tongue in cheek look at the world (giggling with a wry smile). LN were never really serious about anything except about the quality of the compositions written. Which sums them upeth nicely.
