Being connected. The world evolves at the same time as your own connections, to form complex network. Parts connect parts and elements of all kinds and all of it is shared. Today, as we enter someone’s home we ask ourselves if there is electrical power, but someday we will not even ask if there has been a connection. It will be spread all over the environment and landscapes in all shapes, sizes, canvas or technologies.
Being connected is a luxury and necessity nowadays. Some may call it “Networkâ€, but being connected is far beyond. To live and survive in the world is to be aware and knowledgeable of that connection, being inserted. We are connected as a society, a culture, as a economy and as a ecosystem. And also connected to our neighbors, newspapers, television, internet, even in the chaotic traffic and even inside the subways.
We are in fact connected to ourselves, with our own ideas and to those who have the same ones. We make music as our own art and form of expression, so it is a product and information in a everyday more connected world. And is music what connects us all. And we live that. We live the Art. We are connected to get over the difficulties, limits of space and time, striving to be cutting-edge artists moving forward, towards and adding up connections and remembering to respect what is established. All possibilities are explored and motivates a multi-cultural interaction.
More than ever, 2008 prepares a promising year to the Art in general, the most interactive year so far. The cultural interaction between different countries with unequal realities connects not only art and music, but therefore ideas, ways to see and interpret the surroundings even among long distances.
Wide Open Mind fits perfectly on those standards, being not afraid of the year and what is to come. 2008 is necessary to expand not only music itself though, but ideals of multi-cultural interaction.
Interacting now with musicians, rappers, producers, and artists from all corners of the world as Inverse Cinematics (GER), Alex Hepburn (UK), GBX (BRA), Poetize Code (BRA), Fleur (Austria), Mathew Jonson, Tyger Dhula and Cobblestone Jazz (CAN), Skip Dawg (USA), G-ROM (SWI), P-Flow (SWI), Mc Mar (SWI), Awkword (USA), Goonsquad (USA), Zane Tate (USA), Geisan Varne (BRA), Mauro Telefunksoul (BRA) amongst others, The Wide Open Mind is expanding its Art over the world. Being aknowledge and noticed by several producers, promoters, radios and music-influent people as a big thing happening on the electronic music scenario, Wide Open Mind goes far beyond.
This unique live is formed by Paulo Tome (Main Producer), David Veiga (DJing and Sampler) and has as part of the crew Jaime C (Designer) who is responsible for all of the Art Design and visual identity of Wide Open Mind.
Mellow-mood, extremely musical, and soft-intentioned but yet with a Dancefloor aesthetics in mind, Wide Open Mind’s album tracks echoes around the world respectfully and independently on radio shows as BBC Robo Cast radio (UK), Ibiza Global Radio (ESP), Monday Jazz (LIT), Develop Radio (GER), 09 Sessions (UK), All FM (UK), Urban Landscapes (US), Sick Trumpet (UK), B sides (US), Migrations radio (Montenegro), Smooth Lounge Radio (US), Nova Radio show (Greece), Fusionova(ESP), IbizaSonica (ESP), NAB radio (USA) amongst others of the most important Nujazz, Lounge, IDM and Experimental radio shows in Europe and across the world.
