About Me

Come to the edge,' he said.
They said, 'We are afraid.'
'Come to the edge,' he said.
They came.
He pushed them...
And they flew.
It's hard to sum up who you are as a person in one of these things, especially since I'm still learning every day about who I am. Here are a few things I know for sure...
My name is Christy. That was an easy one, huh? I'm 25. My best friends & my family call me Chris, except Dan. He calls me by my last name most of the time, as do a lot of people.
I'm constant changing yet I always seem to stay the same, even though I'm not the person I used to be.
I'm a Christian. I know God has an awesome plan for me and my friends. It's pretty overwhelming to think about sometimes, but I have this calm peace and know that everything is going to be OK. He has a plan for my life that is bigger than I am.
I’m thankful for grace instead justice.
My mother is my best friend. She’s one of the most remarkable people I have ever met in my entire life.
I'm going to be a best-selling author, hopefully sooner than later. I'm not conceited, just confident, which I think is necessary to succeed in this world.
I wish I was as good of a person that Alea Holt believes me to be.
Some days I feel like I’m 100. Some days I feel like a kid again. I like those days better.
I give great advice but rarely take my own. Some people may call that hypocrisy. I call it ignorance.
I love to take pictures. If you choose to be around me, expect your picture to be taken.
I've been told that being around me and my best friend Jen is like being trapped in an episode of The Gilmore Girls. When the other shuts up, the other resumes talking. This makes me smile.
Random Things I Should Be Ashamed Of But I’m Not
My guilty pleasure is Hanson. I still own one of their CDs. Actually, I own two. You like them too. At least I admit it. If you’re nice to me, I might let you borrow one.
Sometimes, I surf Lolcatz pictures.
I used to watch Star Trek every night with my cousin Lee. Sometimes, I still do.
Sometimes, I like to watch my favorite movies with the director's comments turned ON.
Mary Poppins was my favorite movie growing up, and I watched it literally HUNDREDS of times. To this day, I can still quote by line that entire movie, including the songs.

My Interests

Jesus. He changed my heart & my life.
My family & friends. #1 fo-shizz.
Antique shops & flea markets. I am my mother’s daughter.
Quantum physics. I’m a closet nerd, you have no idea.
Travel. I've been to Amsterdam, Italy, and Greece. Hopefully in a summer or two, I'm going back.
Photography. A picture says a thousand words. Like I need something else to say.
Camping/Fishing/Being Outside
. Just cuz I’m a fattie doesn’t mean I don’t get out.
The Titanic. The boat, not the movie, even though I liked it too.
Writing. It's my passion. I think I’m OK at it, and I’m getting better.

When I’m a famous author one day, you’ll be glad you were still my friend despite the fact I sometimes listen to Hanson and read about quantum physics.

I'd like to meet:

People who love life and aren't afraid to think outside the box. I feel like I could benefit from knowing just about anyone and hope that you would learn something by knowing me as well.

As well as... Mike Rowe, Diablo Cody, Adam Sandler, Michael Cera, Shia LaBouef, Jennifer Weiner, Janet Evanovich, Grant Wilson, Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, Steve Carrell, Julie Andrews, JK Rowling, and William Gruber

Music:

I LOVE Music. It’s one of my most favoritest things. I listen to literally just about everything. I don’t like music against God, about killing puppies or people, or slitting your wrists. Other than that, I’m down. Here are a few of my favorites, including but not limited to:

Smashing Pumpkins. Red Hot Chili Peppers. Phantom Planet. Brandon Heath. needtobreathe. DC Talk. Audio Adrenaline. Mercy Me. Lincoln Brewster. Tommy Buyers. Casting Crowns. Matchbox 20. Coldplay. Blue October. Jack Johnson. They Might Be Giants. The Moldy Peaches. Kimya Dawson. Hanson. Garth Brooks. Josh Turner. Taylor Swift. Bush. Third Eye Blind. No Doubt. Johnny Cash. Kelly Clarkson. The Wallflowers. Tom Petty. Aerosmith. Jackson Waters. Oasis. The Eagles. Chairlift. The Goo Goo Dolls.

Movies:

The Sound of Music. Mary Poppins. Peter Pan. The Goonies. Dirty Dancing. Shawshank Redemption. Mr. Deeds. 50 First Dates. Juno. Because I Said So. Fight Club. A Beautiful Mind. Identity. DeJaVu. The Notebook. A Walk To Remember. The Bucket List. The Lion King. Enchanted. Talledega Nights. 27 Dresses. The Holiday. Catch and Release. The Chronicles of Narnia. Harry Potter. The Wizard of Oz. Hook. Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.

Television:

Ghost Hunters. One Tree Hill. How I Met Your Mother. The Cleaner. Intervention. How It's Made. Doctor Who. Star Trek. Full House. You Are What You Eat. The Discovery Channel. The History Channel.

Books:

The Bible is the first. It's also the most useful. I really like The Hiding Place. I seriously recommend it. It will make you so thankful.

I'm not so much concerned with favorite books as I am favorite authors. But some of the best books I've read lately are - My Last Days as Roy Rogers & Out of the Night That Covers Me. The Summer We Got Saved. Excellent books. Flowers for Algernon. Good in Bed. Conversations with the Fat Girl.

my mama

My mom is the most amazing person in the world. We may not see eye to eye on everything, but she is wonderful. She has done so much for so many people and has sacrificed so much just to do it. I can honestly say I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the grace of God and my mom and dad. If I become half the woman my mom is, I will be doing great.
