Since forming Sano More in 2003 singer/bassist Chris Philpott, guitarists Brendan Underwood and Andy Henderson, and drummer Pete Rihia, have traversed a pretty difficult road in getting to where they are now. “We’ve faced a lot more challenges than we expected, that’s for sure,” laughs Philpott. “Early in the year Pete broke his leg, which put him out of action for around 6 months. It was actually touch-and-go with him for a while, and even he wasn’t sure if he’d make it back, but we waited for him to get ready and put our plans on hold. We really feel like we work well together, and in that regard no-one is dispensable." On DEMOtion, their debut EP, the band explores themes including alcoholism, unrequited love, and the pain of watching a loved one destroying themselves. “It sounds cliché, but at the end of the day I think we all want to create music that people will identify with, and that we can show our kids and be proud of and we feel like DEMOtion has achieved that."
