Heather was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare childhood bone cancer, in September of 2002 at the age of 16. Doctor’s said that they could treat Heather, but not cure her. Heather had a 10% chance of surviving one to two years. So Heather, with her amazing determination and spirit, and her mother Michelle, prepared to fight the biggest battle of their lives. Heather endured conventional treatment, as well as alternative therapy during this time never once complaining. She was going to beat this disease!
Heather fought for three years living life to the fullest. She was in remission for one year. During that time she was able to return to school and graduate from Glen Burnie Senior High School in 2004. Heather never let cancer define her. Although her life consisted of living in and out of the hospital during her battle, she looked past her illness and lived her life. Heather, or Daisy to those of us that were privileged enough to know her in that way, will always be remembered for her signature smile, beautiful blue eyes, terrific sense of humor, and most of all, her loving spirit. Her bravery was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. She is loved by many and missed deeply by all.
In honor of Heather and her amazing spirit, The Heather Brooke Foundation has been established to continue Heather's fight and help find a cure for childhood cancer.
"It is the goal of The Heather Brooke Foundation to provide Assistance, Information, Funds and Support to the children with life debilitating illnesses with a major focus on Childhood Cancer."

God saw you were getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes we watched
you suffer
And saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Heather take care of Sky for us, I can't wait to see you both in Heaven one day!
If God calls me
(To my loving angel)
I dont want to leave you,
but if God calls me
I hope that you understand
that I cant say no.
I will always be with you,
if you keep me in your heart
and in your thoughts,
I will never be gone.
I am fighting with all that I have to get better.
I hate this cancer,
I hate that is hurting you.
I promised you that I will be strong
and that I will fight,
but please understand
that if God calls me
I can't say no.
