About Me

INFO:
Matisse and Carrots is an attempt to make arty pop songs at home and with friends using second-hand instruments and recording equipment (purchased mostly on eBay and Craigslist) and a laptop. Live performances usually involve others but are sometimes solo acoustic shows by Omar DeLarosa . His musicianship and recording quality is not always the best, but he gets a B for effort--especially considering this is a mostly money-losing endeavor.
If you have questions or need to book Matisse and Carrots for your next house party, wedding, or bar-mitzvah try: [email protected].
PRESS:
"Matisse and Carrots retains de la Rosa’s McCartney-esque sensibility (on one track he bemoans the fact that the Beatles took all the “good metaphors”) his tone is lower, the drawl of his voice reaching into a darker place that transforms his Magnet Club jokiness into a confessional cloak."
-Justin Strout, Orlando Weekly
AWARDS:
-2nd Place in Amateur Adult Performance for the song "Quarters In The Machine" 4th Annual Orange County Performing and Visual Arts Contest
