About Me

I am at that point in my life where every decision seems absolutely huge. I like the smell of gasoline and permanent markers. Meatloaf makes me gag. I cry easily at sad movies but cuss like a sailor (especially when watching my Wings.) I appreciate a good pun and really corny joke. I am a giant supporter of people using their talents and sharing them with the world. I use too many pop culture references. I have been overly blessed with amazing friendships. I am a nerd. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

P.S. The more random and sarcastic the person, the more I like them.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who have opinions.
People who fly kites and go hiking with me and Dan Brown so that I can take his pen away from him and convince him to stop writing incredibly annoying novels.

I would say "the person I am going to spend the rest of my life with" but maybe I have already met him and just don't realize it yet - I suppose, if that were the case, we could still "meet" for a date or something...

Music:

I have a very eclectic taste in music. That said, I only like good music - -- - Ben Folds, Beatles, Aerosmith, Keane, City and Colour, Salt N Pepa, Billy Joel, Cat Stevens, Sigur Ros, Nat King Cole, Jay Clifford, Showtunes, The Postal Service, Jack's Mannequin, Delaney, Snow Patrol, Colin Hay, Ben Kweller, Jamie Cullum, Jump Little Children, Kenny Loggins, Miles Davis, Augustana, Count Basie, ABBA, Ben Lee, Something Corporate, Beastie Boys, DaVinci's Notebook, Incubus, Tchaikovsky, Tenacious D .... to name a few

Television:

The Office, Scrubs, Jeopardy!, Gilmore Girls, Sports Science, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother and re-runs of shows I used to watch when I was little... I'm a nerd

Heroes:

My mom for being the strong woman she is, my dad for years of providing for our family, my sister for overcoming a troubled past to raise her daughter, my little brother and all soldiers for signing up for the military for the good of our country, my sister-in-law for being strong while her husband is in Iraq, Rachel Carson, St. Francis de Sales, Stephen Hawking

My Blog

Jim Halpert loves me

Ever since moving back to Jackson for my period of discernment, I have had quite a bit of time to myself.  The vast majority of this time has been spent dwelling on how it feels to be an early tw...

Verba volant

I said goodbye to an old friend today. Goodbye.  I hugged her fiercely and told her I loved her.  She didn't say anything back but she didn't have to.  I knew that the next time I saw h...

Ehem: An Open Letter To Summer

Dear Summer,   I know you get a lot of letters where people profess their love to you... this is not one of those letters.  I get it that you are the "popular" season and that you are s...

Sound of Silence

Silence is golden.  I know this to be true with every fiber of my being.  After making a silent retreat at Holy Cross Abbey, I now see the benefits of, for lack of a better term, shutting up...

Ello, Gov'ner

Now that the mandatory period of mourning is over... I feel that an honest critique of the Red Wings post-season is justified. Being one of their biggest fans, and a genuine lover of the game of hocke...
