Anahit Nercesyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia and has displayed her musical talent at a very young age. She was receiving awards as early as seven years old. A lyrical, bright soprano with coloratura techniques. Her voice is virtually endless repertoire spanning from Nerces Shnorhaly to Mansourian, cantatas oratorios to many other operatic areas. During her nineteen year residency in the United States, Anahit has performed in over five hundred different concerts and events. Anahit holds a masters degree in vocal performance from Komitas State Conservatory under the tutelage of Mariana Harutunyan. She also holds a bachelors degree in music from Romano’s Melekian Central Music College. Anahit has performed in Verdi’s Requiem, Fore’s Requiem, Bach’s A-dour Messah,Shubert’s C-dour and many more. She has performed in over 40 different orchestras. In 1991 she took several classes with very famous Italian tenor Giani Savelli. Anahit is presently the vice president and founder of a musical and comedy theater Y.M.M.B Inc. in Glendale California .Anahit has performed many roles in her native home land Armenia and has appeared in solo performances throughout Armenia, Russia, Canada, France, and many cities in the United States. One of her first steps in her career was singing in a performance with Yelena Obraztsova in St.Petersburg, a very accomplished singer from the Soviet Republic. Anahit was the award winner in the international competition in the Soviet Republic named after Mikayel Glinka in 1984, She also won an award in France in 1985 , an award in Fresno in 2000 and was the winner of Cirque Du Soleil in 2003 . Anahit also performed at Alex Theatre in Glendale with the Glendale symphony orchestra, accompanied by maestro Henry Mammy Norman. On May 25, 2007 she also performed with Westside Symphony Orchestra at the Westside Jewish Community Center, accompanied by Hrant Sevdayan. Also another performance on April 24, 2007 with the South Pacific Orchestra in Huntington Beach. The list of her performance follow her outstanding years of service to her art. Over the years, Anahit has brought valuable participation as a singer and actress and also as a vocal coach in Glendale California, where she now calls home. Anahit Nercesyan is truly an extraordinary singer. She recently received a congressional letter of honor from congressmen Adam Schiff and a certificate of special congressional recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the community and also a letter of recognition from the mayor of Glendale California Dave Weaver. Although Anahit has been residing in the United States for more then nineteen years she has not forgotten about her homeland Armenia. She participates in many fundraisers and concerts where the proceeds are sent to Armenia.
