Welcome. Can we just dispense with the pretense? I am going to write a few paragraphs telling you how wonderful I am and how unique my music is and you will be mildly curious at best and probably even a little bored. Charmed already, aren’t you?
You see, all that matters is that this is a great big accident… me playing music that is. I swear I never planned for this to happen, being a musician, that is…
Yet, here we are. I just released my first solo musical endeavor and I couldn’t be more happy with the unexpected series of events that have brought me… brought us… to this point.
After playing guitar in and with numerous different bands in the Minneapolis music scene I had written a group of songs I just didn't want anyone else to sing, the result: Things That Make Us.
think: story telling indie rock and roll… the bastard child of the killers and dido… the real life of a broken hearted pastor… you get the picture…
And so every note you hear, every lyric, every chord, every bit of humanity, is me, David James Stewart. These songs are the result of the last three years of my life. Heartbreak, failure, hope, new beginnings, transformation... things that have made me… things that are making me… things that have made us.
