Andy Craig’s involvement in music was inspired by watching the pipe bands play in fairs when he was just 5 years old and steadily grew from then. Originally born in Paris, France, Andy’s family moved back to Scotland where he began to play the bagpipes at age 9 , performing in various pipe bands before swapping the loud bellowing of the bagpipes for piano and then eventually guitar.
He started djing in 1998 and this love of House music convinced him to start producing his own music. He studied at the MMS Studios in Manchester before setting up his first record label Epok in 2000. This labels first release ‘The Sky is Falling’ received excellent reviews and was aired on Radio 1. His production skills were developed, by working for record labels Zazoo in Edinburgh and Hooj Choons in London, and with such a wealth of talent around him it wasn’t long before his music became in great demand. Andy then changed direction into the more deeper, darker sound of House and set up label Shivar whose best selling record was progressive driver ‘Sunset’ in 2002. Throughout the years his style has mellowed from Trance to Progressive, and now to the more Funky sound of House.
Winner of the UKSC 2006 (Funky House) & 2007 (Hip Hop) Andy’s production and music writing skills have been recognized and appreciated across the industry and he has negotiated over tracks for artists for numerous artists. This funkier sound of House has also led him to working with Rowetta (Happy Mondays) , Zelma Davis (C+C Music Factory) and Barbara Tucker (B Star Music) to name a few.Having had tracks signed to UK label Reel House - who have had releases from artists such as Stonebridge, Jocelyn Brown, Byron Stingily, Lenny Fontana - and tracks signed to Dutch Label Seqsoul Records, US label Blue Plate Global Records ( Mark Picchiotti’s label - the sister to Strictly Rhythm), UK label Shivar and UK label Musictracx - Andy’s music is reaching across the globe and certainly brightening up the clubs with his fat n funky vocal sound..
Andy is currently working with Zelma Davis, Larry Holcombe (one half of the hugely successful breaks duo Def Inc), Steve Gibbs (formerly renowned Trance Artist Altitude), & London rapper K-Loc whose credits include (Wu Tang Klan, Killa Army, DJ Blakey), .
On the DJ side of things Andys sets have taken him all over the world to cities such as London, San Francisco, LA, Rio de Janeiro , Sao Paulo, Sydney, Melbourne - aswell as sets all over the UK. His favourite place to date was the Love Parade in San Francisco, where he played to a crowd of over 100,000 , but he relishes his opportunities wherever he plays to bump out that sexy, dirty, funky house that is his love.If theres good music and good looking girls u can be sure hes there.................You can check out his latest videos below and opposite - Breathe In - Cant Get Enough - Dont Wait 4 Me..
