About Me

Baltimore born and bred, Gary has played keyboards professionally for over 30 years. As a self taught musician, Gary's skills and outgoing personality has carried him 'All Around The World For The Funk'. Beginning from his local band in Baltimore known as 'The Grand Jury' way back in the '70s where he honed his skills, Gary went on to appear on stage at major venues with The Brides of Funkenstien (along with Dennis Chambers, Blackbyrd McKnight, and Cherokee Bunn), the great George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Sly Stone, Bootsy Collins, Stevie Wonder, Najee, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wilson Pickett, Crystal Waters, Christina Milian, The Temptations, The Marvelettes and many others. Gary's phenominal keyboard talents can also be heard on recordings and remixes by artists such as Angie Stone, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Brandy, Ann Nesby (The Sounds Of Blackness), Taja Seville, Sybil and others. The outrageous diversity of all these artists will reflect Gary's diversity and his ability to adapt to almost any musical genre. These days, Gary spends most of his time at his studio in Baltimore known as Code Red Recordings (www.coderedrecordings.com) where he works side by side with the great DJ Spen and Irvin Madden creating the hottest dance music on the Planet!

Influences: George Duke is probably the most versatile keyboardist I've ever heard. The way he plays jazz, fusion, rock, funk, gospel and R&B puts him at the top of my list. Larry Dunn of EWF fame has got to be one of my unsung heroes of the keyboard. He has written and recorded some of EWF's biggest hits. I always give props to the incomparable Bernie Worrell who has influenced me at the beginning of my professional carrer. Can't forget Walter 'Junie' Morrison whose slick keyboard style many have tried to emulate. What you hear in me today is actually a piece of all of the great musicians and performers that have influenced me in some from the beginning of my musical career right up to the present. I tend to borrow a bit of this and a bit of that from everyone. -Hudge
