Catherine Joyce

About Me

Greatly influenced by her dad and his generation, Catherine Joyce has grown to be one of the many up-and-coming Irish musicians of the next generation. She recently played for Pope Benedict XVI's Youth Rally in NY, opening for acts such as Kelly Clarkson and Toby Mac. Catherine has also been part of The Blackstone Valley Celtic Festival with The Briar Boys, the ICONS Festival, The North American Frame Drum Convention with Steafan Hannigan, and Boston's Celtic Music Fest with The Burren Youth and as part of the Finale House Band. She is a regular and co-host at a few seisiuns around Boston and an active member of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Éireann. Catherine is the daughter of the late, great Joe Joyce "The People's Choice." "Joe's daughter Catherine is a fine musician and indeed Joe's pride and joy as she achieves ever more progress in her playing (fiddle, whistle, singing). She is more than qualified to take over Joe's musical reputation as one generation of musicians hands the torch over to the next." - Bill Black, IRTrad.Boston Globe Article on Joe JoyceJoe is included in Susan Gedutis's book "See You at the Hall: Boston's Golden Era of Irish Music and Dance" Check it out!
