About Me

So, we are six. We are all very different, although four of us work together in the same musical school, where three of us used to study. And all six of us love to get together and play music in our leisure time. We have mostly similar musical interests. We are fascinated by brilliant jazz improvisations of the legendary Menuhin&Grappelli duetto, by virtuoso guitar of Django Reinhardt and his successors, melodies and sensuality of French chanson, fiery latino rythms.
Actually the desire to touch upon this enormous layer of jazz music and aspiration to express oneself not only in our students but in creative work of our own has eventually led us to setting up our band.
It all started as an unassertive violin duetto and timid attempts of “playing jazz”, gradually the band was overgrowing with new instruments, stock of works, equipment and, what is most important, we acquired new and new fans of our music, both among adult listeners and our young audience. It turned out that many people of different generations perceive this kind of music with some special warmness and gratitude.
Our repertoire has been constantly growing. We started mainly with arrangements of Fren?h songs (hence our name Café Paris); however, later we decided to expand our geography, traveling in our musical imagination through various countries and regions – France, Spain, Latin and Northern Americas, Russia… and who knows where we can find ourselves tomorrow!
In fine, we play music for “soul delight” navigating through well known and sometimes long-forgotten melodies…
