Bassist and Producer in New York
TedTrimble.com
Welcome to the lair of Ted Trimble - Composer and Jazz Bassist of a sort. I am transforming now slowly into the mystic past of the tradition my ancestors for composing ideas. I have been on many travels and the last one I lived in Holland for 7 years composing, playing, and feeling my Irish and Swedish roots on European soil. I am also part Native American; I knew that part from Oregon. I played with Jim Pepper on reservations and in prisons. I came to New York in 1982 to play as much as Dizz and Bird did. We got close with the 80's street bands. Me and a drummer from Detroit named Rick Hollander along with Randy Johnston and Dale Barlow and Steve Schrell and Dan Converse had some killer moments. We should have. We were doing gigs too. Do 14 hours a day for months with the same drummer. It does some incredible things for your playing. We all got hired right off what we used to call Club Tickets, 47th and 7th, our main venue for 8 hours on some days. Then uptown at City College with Ron Carter, then came a job offer to teach in The Netherlands at The Royal Conservatory. Meanwhile playing with everyone at that time who was into it. Chet Baker, Bob Mover, Steve Grossman...the list goes on and on. Now in New York - 2007 with a co led Cd from a group of Finns and ex pats on a Dutch Record label and doing Classical training in Europe, the place where it started. I've come back to the States with a wealth of new Ideas. Stay tuned !
