ambright is a Christian Rock band from Atlanta, GA. Pulling from influences like Tim Hughes, Mute Math, After Edmund, The Afters, Starfield, Leeland, and the like, ambright creates a fresh and driving Christian sound. ambright prides itself not only on lyrical content, but music that rings true to the rock genre. Whether it is through commanding guitars, bouncing bass lines, refined keys, or precision drumming, ambright drives home a sound that is not easily forgettable. ambright finds themselves in a unique middle ground between the ever increasing dilemma between listening to Acoustic or Hard Rock Christian music. Over the rock backdrop, ambright’s lyrics and melody are simple yet tasteful leaving the audience singing along even on the first listen.
ambright begins with Sean Hill, the songwriter and lead singer/guitarist, who creates the basic foundation that the rest of the band eventually builds. Ryan Stephens’ style and tone on lead guitar demonstrate the maturity and preciseness of the musicianship found in ambright’s material. Matt Thomas' ear for mood is evident in his choice of piano, organ, electric piano, and other synth sounds that give ambright a unique feel on each track. Eric Hill and Jamie Crossland round out the band with driving rhythms and thought provoking bass lines paramount in creating the rock atmosphere. The quintet pulls from many places for their musical inspiration, but looks only to God for true inspiration.
ambright has released two projects to date. First, their self-titled EP was released in December of 2007 that includes six tracks from the then quartet. Second, their debut full-length album "flicker," as the now quintet, was released in November of 2008. "flicker" earned ambright significant attention and they were honored in the winter of 2008 with a nomination for Rock Artist of the Year in the Momentum Awards hosted in Nashville by IndieHeaven.com. All the music from ambright to date has been self-produced, mixed, and mastered in their home-grown studio just north of Atlanta, GA.
Although ambright is young as a band, they are focused on what is truly important. They are seeking God's heart and sharing that search in their songs. All they ask is that you take that journey through their music with them to find God.

ambright, Rock Artist of the Year Nominee (2008 Momentum Awards), is proud to present "flicker", their debut full-length album on November 11th, 2008. "flicker" has already been receiving critical acclaim on IndieHeaven.com, "you guys seem to keep raising the bar for yourselves, with each new song. That's the best gift you can give to your listeners and fans, and it will ensure that you continue to uncover great songs in your musical pursuits" says critic John Green. Not only is the album critically acclaimed, but "flicker" is already receiving fan support on the fan-based voting charts on IndieHeaven.com. The songs "Dirty" and "Shake These Walls" have both reached into the top 25 on the "FanFaves" chart out of over 200 Chrisitan indie songs.

"flicker" moves beyond the self-titled EP release from the band of just a year ago, in production, performance, writing, and content as well, "I like the honesty (Christians are too afraid to be honest sometimes) coupled with the ultimately uplifting God-ward focus" John Green explains. ambright is moving beyond the stereotypes of contemporary Christian artists in approach, focus, and sound, making "flicker" a must-have for listeners seeking something beyond the cautious "Christian sound".
