The Caskets (2001-2009)

About Me

Cardo & the Caskets started out as a side project by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Ricardo "Cardo" Solis. Around 2001, Cardo started to write songs that were going in a different musical direction than his band at the time, Hardcore/Metal outfit Machines of Penalty. When things fell apart with the Machines in 2004, Cardo was floating around aimlessly and eventually ended up in a Great, Non-stop Bop of a band called Laters A in 2005. Playing more shows in the span of 6 months than he ever played with Machines in 3 years, Cardo felt that this kind of work ethic was always for him. As time went on and after the parting of ways with the "A", Cardo continued to scutinize his place in music while writing more melodic tunes. Cardo explains, "Heavy music will always be a part of me, but it's not as challenging as it once was. I find it a little more exciting when i'm actually trying my best to sing a melody on top of a heavy, but simple chord progression." Songs "the World" and "Zombie Song" prove that. The Caskets have a full, balanced sound that is ready to tear the faces off of anyone nearby, yet you forgive them cuz you're singing along while they're doing it.-Johnny Hewlett, The Southwest Gardenia____________________________________________________________ ________________________________Our First Music Video "Zombie Song"Bad Religion Cover "We're only gonna Die!" performed by Fear To Sail with Cardo on Backing vocals._____________________________________________________ _____________________Hear us on the Enchantments TV Show!!!!
