My name is Will. I would like to say that I first picked up a guitar a good six years ago, and it was love at first feel...but this simply wasn't the case. My first year of playing was essentially comprised of about an hour of playing shitty renditions of Metallica and Iced Earth songs, seldom in intervals shorter than once a week. My affinity for the instrument wasn't truly discovered until a few years later, when I started getting comfortable enough with it to just screw around with my own ideas. Since then I've been working quite religiously at learning how to truly express myself through this wonderous instrument, and as any musician knows, it's an eternal struggle.
Like most guitarists do at some point or another, I eventually dabbled in the world of bass, at the time out of little more than the desire to play in a band (I'm sure many of you know that bassists aren't a very abundant commodity). As I spent more and more time with it over the years, I grew to appreciate and enjoy it as its own independent entity, and a damn fun one at that. I currently play for the Orange County-based thrash metal band Deception, as well as a prog-fusion group I've been jamming with for years that can't quite figure out the name game haha.
This here is an older video of a solo I wrote for a song I haven't yet recorded. I play it a lot more musically now and I unintentionally added a beat about 10 seconds in, but this is the gist of it

As far as recording goes, since I can't exactly crank up my ampifiers in my apartment, I record the strings with the Line 6 Gearbox and Sonar 7 Producer Edition. I'm looking into more drum programs but what you hear right now is Cakewalk TTS-1 general midi drums haha..
