Underground Sound Studios' humble, but promising beginning began in downtown Brooklyn, NY in the late 90's. Located under the Brooklyn Bridge in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn, Billy Graziadei, a founding member of BIOHAZARD and SUICIDE CITY, opened his private "Biohazard" studio to the public with then partner Danny Schuler back in 1998. Changing the name to Underground Sound Studios, a move to South Amboy, NJ was made in late 2003 for more space, location and studio design. Underground Sound Studios soon welcomed friend and fellow engineer Mike Turner (VULTURE). As experienced producers, engineers and musicians, (with gold and platinum albums), Billy Graziadei and Mike Turner have been kicking out some pretty amazing albums over the years. When not working on full length albums, Graziadei and Turner are currently producing some of the areas most promising new artists such as Suicide City, Que Cera, Ashes are Nutritious, No Hollywood Endind and Sanitarius to name a few.
Just 20 minutes from Manhattan, 5 minutes from Staten Island, the studio is easily accessible from the NJ tpke (exit 11) and GSP (exit 125)

SAME OLD PROBLEM WITH THE SAME OLD STUDIO??
So you've rehearsed the songs a thousand times, spent years perfecting your craft, pouring out your heart and soul, and dreaming of the day you could record your music in a professional, creative environment, taking that first step towards realizing your life's dream of being a professional musician and all that entails. You've worked hard at jobs you hated, all the while knowing in the back of your head you've got what it takes, saving your hard earned cash to get in the studio to record your hit cd. So you book time with the local guy you heard did a great cd for so and so, who supposedly sold 10 million records 20 years ago with whomever, and is the DUDE who you will channel your energies through to show the world your talents. So you get to the studio, only to find it's a run down room with obsolete equipment, run by a slovenly has-been with a mullet who thinks hip hop is something a rabbit does, and heavy metal is Jethro Tull.( No dis to Jethro Tull, but you know what I'm saying). A guy terrified of a computer and intimidated by the recording technology of today. He tells you that "all that new fangled digital computer recording stuff will suck the life out of your music. This vintage (read; OLD) gear is magic; I've been using it since 1974", Blah blah blah. So you record your songs, and you don't like the way it sounds. You tell the engineer, "it just doesn't sound like I want it to". He tells you, "this is what I've been doing for everyone, good enough for them, good enough for you" or "we'll fix it in the mix" or "when (washed up rockstar) was here, he loved it". Mix day comes around and nothing improves. The sessions have taken so long that you can no longer afford to change anything, so you settle for a recording that you feel doesn't represent who you are, and you know you could have done better. We've all gone through that disappointment, right? At UndergroundSound, our goal is to work with the artists to capture the best possible performances, find an appropriate soundscape to present the songs, and blend the elements together for maximum emotional sonic impact. We care about the music! Unlike most studios, we are professional musicians and performers who have recorded and toured with many major artists in the best studios and biggest halls all over the world. Over the past 15 years, we've experienced many of the ups and downs of the music industry, and through it all have maintained an intense belief that above everything, the music matters the most. We strive to bring the best out of you, and to make the recording process the exciting ,energetic, and vital experience it should be!
