Welcome to Satori Rose Art. My name is Kristi and I have had dreams of creating art to inspire spirit for quite some time now and this --more or less-- is what has come to fruition. I hope you find something that speaks to your own personal Truth, for Truth has many paths.
I have had an ingrained need to help and enlighten ever since I was a small child. Since I could hold a pencil I have been creating. Only now have I come to a point where my creations have evolved enough (and I have become BRAVE enough) to bring them to you. I love: LOVE, ROSES, and SPIRIT.
Which leads me to my next point. The name Satori Rose has a profound meaning behind it, which, if it is okay with you, I would like to divulge: It means Enlightenment of the Rose.
Satori is the Japanese word for Enlightenment. Japan was the first overseas experience I ever had in the year 2004 and it truly opened my eyes to how amazingly large and small the world is at the same time. It opened my mind to the paradox of finding TRUTH through opposing forces (contrast, like the YIN YANG). The experiences I had there moved my soul. It was here I knew I needed to make art for the world to show them what their own souls are made of. SOULS are beautiful beings and widely various in their natures and frequencies.
Then the name Rose has a very personal symbolic meaning to me. A rose is my metaphor for life. As you all know, everything in life is a spiral which mimics a bigger spiral around it. Our DNA is a spiral. Flower petals SPIRAL. The moon SPIRALS around the Earth. The earth SPIRALS around the sun, which in turn is part of a great spiral galaxy. It is the center of all these spirals where LIFE is born.
Life is both beautiful and painful. The thorns on a rose serve to HUMBLE the rose in its beauty. Like PAIN humbles LIFE. And it is because of this ASTOUNDING contrast that the rose is such a delicate perfection and continues to remain one of the most commonly used symbols to express LOVE.
As you peel back the layers of your soul spiral and find the center, LOVE is what you will find.
